10 on Tuesday

1. Sick kids again, I'm so over this. J has a fever of 101 (teeth maybe?) and C threw up. It may be the milk of J's that he got into, or it could be the nasty flu I had, then TT had, and now Mimi and Pop Pop have. Please God no.
2. We've been going to the concerts in the park. They are a ton of fun, but self pictures are still not that good!

3. We all went fishing on Saturday night with Uncle Grant and Pop Pop. Seth got blanked but everyone else caught some!

4. Auntie Christine get in tonight late, we are excited to spend the week with her!!
5. Christin and Seth (uncle pp) Parrish are coming tomorrow and are staying with us for 5 days or so!! We are very excited to host them and hang out with them for the long weekend! And they are probably excited that we got a futon, and they don't have to sleep on the couch.
6. I have so much to do before the Parrish's get here. And I'll still have a hole in my ceiling. Good thing they're really good friends of our family!
7. On Sunday (this past) we had family pictures taken... I'm so excited to get them back!
8. On Sunday (upcoming) Colin is being baptised. It's just a very small thing with only family, but we're excited for that too!
9. We must be seriously potty trained because we just lent out "Elmo's Potty Time", which in our house is what did it! John didn't know how sure he was about it, but handed it over when it was time!
10. I just heard my favorite nurse is back after a long time away!! Okay, now I'm off to clean like a mad woman!

Sick again, or still

I'm sick, not the flu, but a UTI again I wish they would just give me the medicine when I call in. I probably have more experience than they do on the subject. But maybe the antibiotics will kill my sinus infection A girl can hope!
Col's sick too, diarrhea poor baby. So in honor of my sick kiddo here's last weeks picture.
Hopefully I'll be back to our regularly schedule blogging next week, with pictures, because I found my camera. In my diaper bag.

What day is it?

I guess it's not Tuesday, and really in 33 minutes it will be Thursday, but I have excuses, most of which I will be telling you hear in my "10 on Wednesday really late".
1. I wanted to put pictures in the post and call it wordless Wednesday, but alas I cannot find my camera. It is probably in my new MINI VAN!!!
2. Oh yeah I have been broken by society or whatever but I LOVE it! Why would you ever want to have anything else? It truly is the greatest car ever invented. Maybe I'll do a meet the mini man cribs style soon...
3. Yep I said mini man, JM calls it that and I like it... either that or Stewart.
4. I got the flu Sunday night, which is one of the reasons I'm behind. When I get the flu it's bad, not kind of feeling cruddy, but like, hey should we be in a hospital bad. Luckily I've recovered I think.
5. Recently Toll House cookie dough was recalled because of e.coli. I'm pretty sure I ate at LEAST 2 packages raw. If my insides start to bleed, my flu is really e.coli and I SHOULD go to the hospital. And I should probably stop eating cookie dough, raw, as a snack, or a meal.
6. Collie got another tooth, the lower right one. It's just so cute!!
7. My house, and to some extent my life is a little out of control right now. Probably because of the flu or e.coli or whatever. I have tons of half finished projects that need to be finished. Because I want to park in the garage again, in the new mini man.
8. Have I told you that the master shower has been leaking? Oh no I forgot to mention that? Oh well I was probably busy ripping out part of my main level ceiling or having tile guy tell me that the entire shower has to come out and be redone. I know it happens when houses age, but wait my house isn't even 5. Man old age is going to suck...
9. My children are still not sleeping. In fact I returned the book (that would be book number 4) to the library. We're going to give it a few more days, but I'm not all that hopeful. And the 8 or so cups of milk JM is drinking each night are creating the need for MORE diapers to be changed mid-night. And even the triple stuffed cloth diapers are not cutting it. So I'm on the hunt for a good night time disposable. Recommendations?
10. I STILL don't feel sleepy, but am going to try because I NEED to sleep tonight, even if it is only 22 minutes until morning. Because tomorrow is a new day full of swimming, kickball and God only know what else, and because I need to be really for all of it, which will probably start in 6 hours and 18 minutes. But I'll be ready for it. Especially with the new mini man:)

This is John after a bath in November of 2007. Auntie Christine did a little work on it, and I love it! I think I'll have her work on this one of Colin from April next...

A very late Ten on Tuesday

Today will be a birthday edition to commemorate all of the wonderful gifts, well wishes and loves that I received today!

1. By the time I checked my inbox around 10, I already had 15 new emails wishing me happy birthday! (an one slightly inappropriate one about improving my manhood?!?)
2. My hubby bought me a new Coach purse, I wouldn't have gotten a better one myself.

3. He also got me a Kapoosh. It is a really cool knife holder that I really really wanted!

4. He also made me breakfast burritos. Because Cheerleading started back up today, so I was a workin' girl!
5. My friend Anne brought me coffee, but I was at aforementioned cheer practice:( We're headed to coffee at 8 tonight:)
6. No less than 8 friends and family members called to wish me a happy birthday!
7. John Michael sang me "happy birthday" 200 or so times today, so I had that going for me!
8. Colin gave me hundreds of open mouth kisses throughout the day!
9. Seth got Carino's for dinner, (for those of you who don't know I got a job there when I was in high school just so I could get the discount:)
10. Seth bought 3 clown cones from Baskin Robbins for dessert, because I'd never had one.

The Haley House of Pain

Seriously, I am SO over this week already. John has had a reaction to his shot. That resulted in a temp of 103, lucky he's starting to break the fever with the help of motrin. Col, didn't really have a reaction, he has just been super sleepy, and a bit crabby. But now both are teething again:(
We have watched so much Barney I want to puke, but it is the only thing that he doesn't cry through. We did have one moment this morning of playing in the puddles from the almost constent rain we've had the past few days in our new rain boot and coat, it lasted only about a minute, but even that was a nice break!

I know that this will pass, but goodness it's tough today.

Ten on Tuesday~Just So Edition

1. Pureed squash is the same color/texture/quantity in as out, just so you know.
2. One of my kids doesn't sleep, so when he does, even when it takes 2 hours, and at some point he turned the light on, and there's books in bed, and water, it's just so nice.

3. One of my kids does sleep, not quite through the night, and usually in my bed, but either way I love him, just so much. (not that I don't love the other one, oh on the contrary).

4. Seeing my children with my parents is just so lovely.

5. Between the two there were 4 vaccinations given today which is making the day just so much harder then it would have been.
6. Just so you know that means Col has been stuck 4 times in the last two days.
7. I like things in my house just so, so now that I have children I feel like I am fighting a never ending battle. And yet I don't give up...
8.I am just SO happy that the weather finally feels like spring. Not June, but spring:)
9. Just so you know we have a sitter!

10. And a tooth! (Just so that you know:) (It's the little "pearl" in his mouth)

Do you ever just have a day?

When everything is either hurried or wrong? I kind of had that day today. J was up at 6, Usually my wonderful hubby deals with anything having to do with that time of day. He was working, I guess so was I because I was nursing, and trying to convince a two year old that in fact the sun WAS still sleeping and he should be too. All to know avail.
I did get a ton done today. 2 dishwasher loads run and emptied. 6 loads of laundry wash, dried, and folded, and half put away. (Sether is going to bring up the rest later and I'll put it away before bed.) The kitchen is, er was clean. And that was all before 10! I made dinner, not from a box, not from a menu, and not one of my go to meals. Something totally new, and different, and yummy. I took an uncooperative two year old to gymnastics. I took a very cooperative 6 month old to the cardiologist. And then to get blood drawn. Two sticks later they want to quit, I got a bit mamma bear and told them there would be no more pricks, and they needed to get everything right then. All day everything was hurry up and wait, between a train, and a Children's hospital waiting room. I'm done. John is still awake upstairs not sleeping. Telling Seth every reason that he needs to come out of his room. He needs to pee (duder you're in a diaper), he's thirsty (there's a water bottler in your room), he's not even tired. I am buddy I am.
So here is to the hope that tomorrow is truly a new day. Complete with better weather. And less hurry up to wait moments. (though we do have another doctors appointment, so that's not looking good:)

Oh and Colin's heart... Perfect! His pressures are going down, which is unbelievable considering the type of defect that he has, and his robust growth. Doctor's use words like perfect. He definitely still has a problem, one he will deal with his entire life, but hopefully, it won't have to affect his entire life:)

This is my diving board

This isn't the best week in regards to it being fun. Lots and lots of doctor's appointments. For everyone, except Seth. Gymnastics today, parks Wednesday. Right now I'm looking at a huge pile of dishes that need to be loaded, but first the dishwasher needs to be unloaded. (From the birthday dinner for Mimi last night:)
The weather is awful today. Cold and misting, the weather could have really helped this Monday, but it's not. And it's suppose to be like that every day this week.
The pictures are just to help YOU get through your Monday, they will help me too!
Ugh! Okay, ready, set, go!

Fruity Friday

I know I haven't done flashback in a couple weeks, but I'm trying to get my scanner working so we can really flashback!

I never told you that we have our produce delivered! Every week door-to-door organics brings me a box of goodies. It has dramatically reduced our grocery shopping trips and now we always have fresh organic things to eat. It has helped us eat more and more of a divers set of fruits and veggies. Plus they use local as much as possible and almost always deliver with the seasons.
As many of you know I made all of J's baby food, and while I was dreading doing it again at first, it is so much easier and thus enjoyable this time! When I get the email from d2d I check to see what food I'm going to introduce in the next week (via super baby food book). And then I sub out items that we won't eat for things C will. It's super easy and makes homemade baby food super easy!

I'm off to celebrate my anniversary at Jax the chef is the winner of top chef on bravo!
Happy weekend!

Time Flies...

Boy it's a big week in our house!

Yesterday Colin turned 6 months old. It's big on a lot of fronts, half a year ago I had that precious little boy. Which means half a year ago today I was at Children's, which brings back even MORE emotions. In 6 short months I'll have a one year old AND a two year old(!) And in these next six months my baby is going to morph into a little boy, with eating, crawling, talking, and possibly even walking. When I look back at pictures of John after six months he really hasn't changed much, more hair, but that's about it!

Today is Seth and my 4 year anniversary. Seriously 4 years! Some days it seems like forever, like there hasn't been a time that he HASN'T been a huge part of my life, (it has been 9 years more than a third of my life, so it is understandable that I feel that way:), and yet other days it feels like our wedding was just the other day. I'm so happy to have Seth be my other half. He keeps me grounded and out of trouble. He understands my crazy mood swings and tells me it's okay. He encourages me, loves me and supports me better than anyone else in the world possibly could. It's easy to see how four years have gone by if you count up all the trips, projects and children. But what you don't see is how we did/got through all of that. Seth is the stead fast rock that my family hinges on and without him, I wouldn't want to do it without him. I truly love him with my entire heart.

John is 25 months tomorrow, which is officially too old to be giving his age out in months. We are going to his 2 year birth class reunion on Saturday. Seriously TWO years!

3 years ago Seth and I went to DC for our first anniversary. I remember telling him I didn't know if we'd ever be able to have children. Little did I know...
So see how I'm having a time flies week?

10 on Tuesday~ 2 year old edition

Things learned/said/preformed by a two year old who shall remain nameless, but you all know who it is.
1. Peeing on an animal shows your aim, does not please parents
2. Using "No Barney" as a punishment only works as long as the momma has nothing to do.
3. You must "punish" your 6 month old for kicking just as you would a 2 year old because other wise "it's not fair".
4. Gymnastics (started yesterday!) with said two year old, proves only that he is a wonderful "monkey" and that his listening ears need some work.

5. Rainy days in the summer aren't much fun, for my table, due to glue sticks.
6. Stamps on hands and feet cure just about everything!
7. Body part and function talk can NEVER get old, unless of course you're older than two.
8. "I need a beer", truer words were never spoken, though I wish I were the one that said them. Especially since we were around company.
9. Reading the paper while swinging, IS a good idea.

10. I wish I could know more on Barney, but he is a good distraction, I would just like the songs to stop playing in MY head. ALL.DAY.LONG.
