Magic Shoes

I think every child has one pair of shoes that are magic. I had red patty shoes, and I can remember each of my sisters having one pair of shoes that they just couldn't take off. I thought a few times John had found his shoes, the Mimi beep shoes, the cameo barn boots, but all pale in comparison to the new red cowboy boots. They are the magic shoes that John (who is kind of a connoisseur of shoes, ask T.T. Courtney)has been looking for. Enjoy the dancing that just happens when the boots are on. I now have to explain to John that he is not allowed to wear the boots to bed. It may make the world melt. If it does, I'm sorry.

Clearly they're brothers!

Colin today 8 weeks

John July 19, 2007 2.5 months

This week has been just okay. Nothing to write about, so I'll do a little "do these children have the same parents?" This gym was a gift from one of Grandma Horsey's friends at my shower before John was born. It was one of John's very favorite things. Even though it doesn't really look like that. Colin doesn't feel the same, but he keeps trying! I'm pretty sure Colin is bigger even though John was older in the picture, I'm basing that on the fact that I've already packed up the shirt John is wearing!

Two Pictures

J with his two best buddies Riley and Mallory. Riding a cow on Monday at a park! Holding onto Riley... It's not easy to get pictures of 3 eighteen month olds!

C napping today... Perfect as always, but what's with the leg.

101 list update

Items in blue are in progress... Some are just on going, but I've started, some are easily completed and I've started. Like number 2, we've been doing great! Or number 66, I've done it for January, but I have 2.75 years to go. #100, I've forgotten a few times, just not gotten bags a few times, and just gotten bags a few times. It is a work in progress!

#17, #18, & 71

#17 Start a savings account for C~
On Saturday the 17th, the entire family went to the bank and opened an account for C, it took less then 20 minutes and it was done.
#18 Open a 529 for C~
Monday Seth logged on to the site where J's 529 account is to print out the paper work. Turns out it was less then 4 minutes later and C's account was open.
#71 Delete my Myspace page~
I'm too old for this, I never checked it unless my photographer had recently taken our pictures, and I figured out I didn't have to have a page to see her's. I was sick of student's of mine wanting to be my friend. Just a couple clicks and done.
Off to a good start! Only 98 things to go!

Wonderful Colorado Weather!

Today we took full advantage of the beautiful Colorado weather. Right now the thermometer say 62.7 degrees, and that's in the shade. After church and grocery shopping (the boys NEEEEEDED doughnuts), we packed a lunch and headed to a new park. J loved all the toys, which where just his size. Then we ate our picnic and walked around Coot lake (those in Michigan, "lake" here is relative, I know it's not more than a pond by your standards). We really just needed an excuse to break in the new stroller. WE LOVE IT!!! It was perfect on the dirt trail, even loaded down with both boys, one in his car seat, a huge diaper bag, picnic lunch, and by the end our jackets. Now J is sleeping, C is hungery, and Seth is watching football. Tonight we have dinner with the Atherton's.
It was another wonderful day in Colorado. I'm so sorry those of you back east are freezing, and we don't have a guest room:( Hopefully your thaw out is just around the corner.

90th percentile!!! In weight!

C is in the 90th percentile for weight, a task never accomplished by his brother. At 12 pounds 2 ounces he has gained nearly 4 pounds in 6 weeks, jumping the curve! He also is 23.5 inches, which means he's grown 3 inches too!
His heart looks wonderful, his blood oxygen levels are 96-99 (woo who!)and his heart is shunting correctly. All of his other numbers look great too, which means we won't be seeing a cardiologist until March until something changes.
As it turns out, I am the one with the genetic metabolic disorder! C only has an issue because he gets all of his nutrients from me. We have a bunch more testing to do on me, Seth and J, but we are 99% sure that I am the issue and hopefully everyone else is fine. It means that I am now on 3 pills three times a day for the rest of my life. The up side is that hopefully I will have more energy (what new mom doesn't want to hear that?) and I shouldn't have a heart attack by the time I'm 50.
After a full day of doctors appointments I am happy to be home, Seth is currently at the pool with J... I'm sure having a wonderful time!

C pictures!!!

These are C's 1 month pictures. Again they were done by our awesome photographer Brooke, who we love. I think the first one with his tongue poking out is super cute!

Weekend Update and 101 Progress

We had a great weekend!!! Saturday we went to the Aquarium, Seth has wanted to go for a while and both he and J had a great time. C on the other had slept through the entire thing. Yea Bjron!!
Today we go TONS of laundry done. Seriously how do 4 people go through 8 loads in one week? (And that doesn't include the 3 load of diapers Seth does!)
We also made it to church which is #2 on my list. Thank goodness we had crayons, and paper, and treats, and books, and our own corner of the cry room. It was a long hour. But we made it, and we will be there next week.
C has entered his 6 week growth spurt. Which means he is eating all the time. It's going to be another long week, but there are some bright spots!! Tuesday we have 2 very important doctors appointments for C. Another cardio appointment, which will hopefully not result in much; and an appointment with the metabolic doctor. Hopefully we will find out TONS!! We hope to know whose issue the carnitine deficiency is, and then have a solid plan of action. We will be at The Children's Hospital all day long, but we are just so thankful we HAVE a Children's to go to.

They are ganging up on us!

Last night Seth and I went out for the first time since C was born. We went to this wonderful restaurant called Terroir here in town and ate VERY well. We were home early enough to put J down and talk with my mom where I told her I was Never able to close the bars and get up the next day. If my life were a movie, it would be foreshadowing. We then had enough time to enjoy another glass of wine before we hit the sack at around 11:30.
Around 12 we hear J do the *mommy* groan, not the I'm awake and want to play, but the oh no I feel awful call. Seth went in to scope it out and was soon COVERED in throw up. I went in to help clean up and clam down which took more than an hour (he had red sauce for dinner). We put him back down and I can tell there is unrest. Not 30 minutes later, more sickness, followed by screaming NO BATH MOMMY! NO BATH! We clean up again, not quite and hour this time, and again try to settle in. This time Seth is sleeping on J's floor.
It now being 4 in the morning C is up and ready to eat. Which he did ever 30 minutes until 6 when he slept for an hour. Seth and I are like zombies today, J is down for a second nap (which he asked for) and if you can even believe it C is either sleeping or starving. I guess I can *party* past 2 and get up and function the next day, well sort of function.
By the way, eggs past their experiation, should be thrown out, not left in the fridge for a sitter to make for your 20 month old. Especially when they expired in November. Sorry J!!:(

2009 Update

J has started walking on his own legs again, which is wonderful!
C is starting to be awake a lot more, and has been holding up his own head and it's been weeks (okay a week) since he's been to the doctors!

I'm going back to work a few hours a week starting Monday and I'm a little nervous about it!
Seth is working like a dog. Somethings never change!

So far 09 has been a great year
