An update for Wednesday

Yesterday we had a wonderful day spending time with many fabulous friends! In the morning we went swimming with R and M, JM's very best friends! I really needed to get out of the house and was very glad MY friends wanted to go out and play. Turns out JM is also very good at hiding the baby bump.
After dinner the whole family went to the very last concert in the park put on by the city. JM enjoyed the music, dancing to the beat, he also really enjoyed the ice cream, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his friend S. Oh happy summer days!
Finally today we went to the OB's to check on Baby Flat. He sounds good with a heartbeat of 157 beats per minute, (really high!) I am going to be on two more meds to get the contractions to stop or at least slow down. And we are now going in twice a month to make sure my cervix isn't shortening or opening.
I think that is all from the Haley House! Love to all! Kelly

Office update and JM's first pickel

Here are the "after" shots of the new office. Everything is hung up, and working. It is going to take a while for us to get used to going into the basement that often, but our thighs will thank us later for the workout. There aren't any of JM's new big boy room, because it is still a big empty room, unless you count JM's tent, which he does. I will post pictures as things happen, which will be very slowly.

Also because you probably don't really care about my house, you just want JM pictures here are a couple from his first pickel. At first he didn't really like it, but he was willing to try it again.

An uneventful weekend...

So far this weekend's been very uneventful, which is just the way we like it. We spent the morning at the farmers market picking up sweet corn and peaches. We also had our picnic in the car, one of my favorite Saturday traditions, with JM enjoying a hot dog and Seth and I having a little "Giggling Greek".
We spent JM's nap putting up pictures, and doing cloth diaper research. We are trying to figure out what the best diaper for our very tall and very skinny man is. After nap we ventured to Boulder where we looked at a couple diaper options, most of which won't work. We also hit up Whole Foods, I love that place!
We went on a great walk and had a fun evening of just the 3, er 4 of us. Hopefully, tomorrow will bring more of the same togetherness, and a working shower:)

We have a phone!!

After the TV guy knew more about the phone than he probably should have, we now (3 hours later) have a phone that works!!! The poor man may never have children, due to JM almost constant tantrums. And I almost had to feed him dinner, but it now works. YIPEE!

Just an update

After all the weekends craziness, we still don't have a home phone. I did however forward it to my cell, so hopefully I'm not missing any of our calls. The phone guy can't come out until tomorrow, (but the tv guy could come out today, and it's the same company) so we're celling it until then.

Yesterday we had our big 20 week ultrasound. He was a wiggle worm at first doing summersaults and dancing, until it was nap time when he curled up and fell asleep sucking his thumb. It confirmed that we are having a boy and we got to measure all his parts. His stats: Length (crown to rump, no legs) is 15 cm, Weight is 11 oz, and his foot length is 3 cm. Clearly he has a bit more growing to do before he is fully cooked, but he is measuring right on for now. I've tried to get the video to upload without any luck, so I'll try scanning pictures later.

Lazy Sunday

After a long weekend of moving around rooms (I'll get to that), we needed a little break. JM had a ton of fun playing in his pool (naked!!), and we all enjoy popsicles "pops" afterwards. JM is such a water baby and had a great time splashing Elmo "Mo", and cooking for me with his sand toys. He and Charlie "Da dee" played with the beach ball "ball" and he even showed the camera that he really can stand on his own!
We are in the process of starting the three room switch a roo, to prepare for the new addition. The first VERY labor intensive part was to move Seth's office to the basement. And get rid of our guest room. Seth was a great sport about lugging heavy office equipment down two flights of stairs. We still need to get pictures hung, a file cabinet down the stairs, and touch up the walls where we had a few uht ohs. And then we are finished... With part one. I'll post after pictures once we're done. (And cleaned up!) Hope everyone else weekend was as productive, and fun!

Yesterday was a big day, well kind of...

Yesterday JM and I joined our friends M and R and their mothers at a local pool. The kiddos are sure having more fun now than they did even a few weeks ago. Afterwards both families came over for a BBQ. JM couldn't stop kissing M, who really just wanted her space. JM and R spent part of the evening “cheers-ing” each other’s cups and the dad’s bottles. And the big news may be that R may have finally convinced JM that walking is a good thing! At bath time JM walked from his room to the bathroom, by far the furthest he’s ever walk alone. A good time was had by all, and we all are very lucky to have such great friends!

Also yesterday was the half way point for me!!! I am now 20 weeks!!!! Here is a belly picture, showing that I do finally look slightly pregnant.

Camping Colorado Style

Over the weekend Seth, JM and I went to Rocky Mountain National Park to camp with 3 other families. Although packing up everyone and everything was a little stressful, we all REALLY enjoyed ourselves once we were there. We made s'mores (JM just had a graham cracker) and even went for a "hike". Really it was just a walk in the mountains. We had a wonderful time and may go once more this summer, or maybe we'll just stay home:) For more pictures see:http://picasaweb.google.com/Mrshadley/CampingJuly2008?authkey=cEd62H6JKKI

Starting a blog

I've decided to start a blog for our family for many reasons, but mostly to keep family and friends near and far updated on the happenings of our family. And to eventually eliminate the "have you had the baby yet" phone calls.

So a quick update on the Haley Household Happenings, so far this summer.

Kelly:
An ever growing belly hasn't slowed us down yet, but I am looking forward to a far more relaxed second half of the summer. I started having contractions at 16 weeks, which we think is due to an infection in my uterus, which we have been aggressively treating. We have also started progesterone shots on Tuesdays that Seth gives me:), to prevent labor. The shots aren't bad but the tiredness and mood swings are awful. At 16 weeks we saw some boy parts, which we will confirm on Monday.

Seth:
Is working hard while there's work to be done. He is still which MHTC, and still likes how every day is different. He spent the first half of the summer "nesting" which made our already beautiful house even better, with new hardwood floors, paint, and a new bathroom ceiling. Everything turned out great, now we just need to finish all the finishing touches, so we can start on MY nesting.

JM:
Not big on posting the little man's name so for now he can be JM. Still in cloth and loving it, still not walking and still attached by the fingers to little pink. He is very in love with babies, but told me he would rather have a balloon than a baby brother. (Some days I don't blame him). He is talking all the time which I love.

I think that hits all the big things, now we are off to lap sit at the library! I hope this finds you happy and healthy! Love,
